BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA

BLACKPINK is the revolution

BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) consists of 4 members: JisooJennieRosé, and Lisa. The band debuted on August 8th, 2016 under YG Entertainment.
On October 23, 2018, BLACKPINK has officially signed with the U.S. label Interscope Records.

These girls debuted with their song “Boombayah”. This song made them the second-fastest girl group to receive their first win in a music show in just twenty days! (From left to right: Rose, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa)

MEMBERS:

This two-year old South Korean girl group consists of four members. They differ in their capability, personality and even in their nationality, but when they come together, they make a phenomenal group of talented people. Starting off with;

Kim Ji Soo

Kim Ji Soo

Kim Ji Soo, also known as Jisoo, is the oldest among the members at the age 25. She trained for 5 years (2011 July). Jisoo was the third member to be revealed. She can speak Korean, Japanese and basic Chinese.

When she debuted, many people criticized her, saying that she’s the black hole of the group. Jisoo may sometimes look awkward dancing, but we cannot disregard her fair share to the group. She was proclaimed as the “Adlib Queen” by fans for she is oftenly heard singing additional lines in the background vocals. Another, her visual is definitely jaw-dropping for many people say that this is the “standard Korean beauty”. I saw it personally last Feb. 02 in their concert here in Manila, and she’s indeed the visual queen!

She’s a caring and funny big sister to the other members. Time passed and now, people are slowly recognizing her efforts in her dance, specially in her singing.

Kim Jennie

Kim Jennie

Kim Jennie (23) is the second eldest in this group. Being an only child, she lived in Auckland, New Zealand for 5 years with her parents. She trained for 5 years 11 months. She is fluent in speaking Korean, Japanese and English.

Jennie was the first ever member to be shown into the public. Since then, she was declared as the “YG Princess” by the fans. Even before she debuts, she was already seen appearing in one of GDRAGON’s (BIGBANG) music video.

Jennie may be always judged by others for being the coldest member just because of how her eyes gazes from one place to another, but behind that is a really cheerful and a softie personality! I saw how hyper she can be, and also, how can little things easily touch her is just a proof that she is not cold-hearted. One thing I really admire about her is, despite facing so many negative comments from other people, she remained strong and just focused to the ones who truly love her.

On November 12, 2018- she debuted as a solo artist with her song SOLO. It is a song of a woman who just had a breakup and now ready to do things, solo.

Park Chaeyoung

ROSE

Park Chaeyoung (22); English name, Roseanne Park is Korean, but she was born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in Melbourne, Box Hill (Australia), where she attended Canterbury Girls Secondary College. Pre-debut, Rose used to be a cheerleader. She trained under YGE for 4 years and 2 months (2012 May).

Rose was the last member to be revealed. When they were just starting, many people said she was the visual hole of the group; but it didn’t went for long because finally, people acknowledge her beauty and now she has the nickname “Blackpink’s Goddess” .

MY FAVORITE! Don’t get me wrong, I love them all; it’s just that, there’s something about her that really makes my heart flutter. She’s so nice, she always has something nice to say, she always compliments others and she’s just so classy as a person. (subjective).

Aside from her beauty and personality, Blinks also loves her voice! Here is her solo stage during their concert (In Your Area). She sang a medley of Let It Be, You and I, and Only Look At Me.

Lalisa Manoban

Lalisa Manoban

Moving on to the last but definitely not the least, we have here the maknae (youngest) of the group! Aged 22, Lalisa Manoban, most commonly known as Lisa, is the main dancer, lead rapper, and sub-vocalist of Blackpink. Lisa was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She was the only person accepted to YG in the YG Audition in Thailand 2010. She became a trainee during middle school and lived in Korea ever since and trained for 5 years 3 months under YGE.

Lisa received many bashing from the netizens starting on their debut. Just recently, now that she holds the position as the most followed female Kpop idol, many fans of other group outraged saying that she’s not even Korean to start with; they said that she only went to their country just to earn money.

At a young age, Lisa moved to South Korea just to pursue her dreams and this is what people will tell her? This is so unfair to her side. Despite all of the hate that’s been thrown at her, she always remains strong. She always assure blinks that she’s doing fine.

To be honest, at start, Lisa was the member that I appreciate the least; but now that I’ve come to think of it, Lisa is one of the people who inspires me to follow my dreams. I want to be brave like Lisa and conquer my dreams no matter how hard it may cost me. I adore Lisa’s passion and determination in achieving her dreams and she really deserves all the recognition she’s been receiving lately.

BLACKPINK

I love these girls. They inspire me so much. All of their hard work are slowly paying off and I’m so happy to witness them achieve so many goals, receive so many awards and recognition and of course, for them to have a lot of people to shower them with love!

THANK YOU!
